Deolo Hill, located to the north-east of the town, is one of the two hills in between which the town of Kalimpong stands. The hill is also the highest point of Kalimpong town, with a height reaching up to 1,704 metre above mean sea level. Out of the three water reservoirs located within the destination, two of which are primary source of drinking water, are located atop this hill. From the top of this hill, tourists can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding villages of Relli valley and Teesta River along with the town of Kalimpong. On a clear day, the snow-clad mountains of West Sikkim are also visible from this hill. Overall Deolo provides a panoramic 360 degree view of Kalimpong town and its neighbouring hills.At the summit of this hill, there is a park built for recreation purposes which feature exotic flowers. The park is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals. Near the park a Hindu temple is also a visited spot. The hills are accompanied by three reservoirs of fresh water that play an important role in fulfilling the water requirements of the town. The hill also offers various adventure-sports that include paragliding and horse riding and trekking etc. thus attracting a large number of adventure enthusiasts. It is one of the most popular destinations of Kalimpong where views are concerned, it is a perfect getaway amidst the majestic mountains for tourists who want a day off from their busy schedule.
