Attractions and Heritage Heritage, Kalimpong, and Tourist Point
The Morgan House or the Singhamari is one of the oldest Colonial bungalows that was built after the British opened up Kalimpong as a hill resort. Built in the early thirties by jute baron George Morgan, it passed into the hands of trustees after Morgan and his wife passed away. The building switched hands once more when the trustees handed over its keys to the government. It is currently under the West Bengal Tourist Development Corporation. This is a very beautiful example of a colonial past of Kalimpong.
The accommodation is especially popular among tourists as it offers excellent view of Kanchenjunga massif as well as views of the valley behind the house.
