Bara Mangwa and Chota Mangwa are the twin villages in Darjeeling district, which are getting popularity as eco tourism day by day. Located in the Darjeeling district, towards the western side of the Kalimpong hills, in the Teesta Valley, the Bara Mangwa village is home to few terraced farms, local huts and too many orange orchards. A virgin tourists eco friendly destination with tea Gardens, Orange Orchard, Teesta River and majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga making it the most promising and beautiful eco tourist destination in Darjeeling. Exclusive remote retreats, with panoramic Himalayan views that will make your soul soar. Spend couple of spectacular days walking through the lush terraced fields, remote villages and pine and rhododendron forests and orange orchards in this un-spoilt region of Darjeeling hills. Bara Mangwa is a perfect place for adventure seekers and nature lovers. Chota Mangwa is located on the top of Mangwa hill in the district of Darjeeling and attracts tourists for its peaceful atmosphere and farmland. From a vantage point, you may get a great view of the river Teesta and the Kalimpong town on the other side of the river. There are some excellent rural tourism accommodations in the area. Even properties with swimming pool are available here which is quite a rarity in the hills here. There is accommodation which is completely organic as well.
The two villages and its surrounding area have grown in tourism significance over the years. Within close proximity are other popular tourist villages such as Tinchuley and Takdah. Together the area is now a popular tourist destination for those who wish to have a relaxed tour among hilly villages. One can easily go from Chota Mangwa to Bara Mangwa as the road distance between the two villages is just 9 kilometers.

Takling Village – This beautiful village is at a walking distance from Chita Mangwa. There is an old monastery which is worth visiting.
Orange Orchards – This region is full of greenery and oranges. One can just walk around have a lifetime experience of having one of the sweetest oranges.
Teesta and Rangeet meeting point – This is a must-visit for the tourists as the meeting point of the two famous rivers is beyond words. Tinchuley Sunrise Point – From Bara Mangwa there is a splendid sunrise point which is about 9 kilometres is surely a moment to capture.
Tea Gardens – Beautiful tea estates can be visited from this region and can have the opportunity to see the processing of manufacturing tea. Rungli Ranglot, Lopchu and Peshok tea estates can be visited from here. There is also a small juice making factory is Lopchu which can be visited.
Homestays , Resorts and lodges are available for accommodation in bara mangwa and chota mangwa. It is recommended to book accommodation in advance.
By Road : Distance from Siliguri is 56 km ,Darjeeling town is 30 km and only 22 km from Kalimpong Town
By Train : Nearest railway station is on New Jalpaiguri and the distance is 60 km, it will take about 2.5 – 3 hrs to reach.
By Flight : Nearest Airport is Bagdogra airport and the distance is 67 km. 3 to 3.5 hrs to reach.
