Gurdum, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas is a small hamlet located in the Singalila National Park. Located at 8000 ft above sea level, the coniferous branches and the rhododendrons welcome you with their nutty smell and bright colours. Gurdum is a settlement of 25 houses scattered along a terraced valley enclosed by the Singalila forest in West Bengal. A village in the Darjeeling district that can only be reached on foot, Gurdum is frequented by trekkers on the Sandakphu trail. Its 150-odd residents have modified their homes into dormitories for weary travelers.

Sandakphu is a uphill day trek from gurdum, its 11 km far from gurdum and take 5 to 6 hrs. Sirikhola is another village which is close to gurdum for day exploration. Bird watching can be done in gurdum due to dense forest around. One can spend quite time in river side of gurdum.
Homestays and lodges are available in gurdum for accommodation , trekkers hut run by tourism department is available in sirikhola which is nearby village.
Take a train to NJP Railway Station.From Njp railway station take a shared cab and drive to rimbik. From rimbik 45 minutes drive till sirikhola then a hour trek to gurdum from sirikhola.
