Bunkulung is a picture perfect village located just 15 kilometers from Mirik, via Soureni bazaar with absolute silence all over. Surrounded by hills on all sides and small streams which flows through village. Nestled in the lap of nature, just 48kms from Siliguri, bunkulung is gaining popularity for its cool and calm weather throughout the year, natural beauty and obviously for tea gardens. A very elusive and unexplored place, Bunkulung is literally the agricultural hub of Mirik. Bunkulung is criss-crossed by two rivers – the Balasun and the small Murmah Khola. Located on the edge of the valley, with hills looming in every direction. The place is full of farm lands, fisheries and empty spans of land that will mesmerize you.

You can visit the nearby tea factory and tea gardens in Murmah and Gayabari. You can also visit the town of Mirik just 15 kms away and enjoy a boat ride in the famous Mirik Lake. The Bokar Monastery in Mirik and the orange orchards of Rangbang can all be covered in day trips.

Bunkulung is 48 km from Siliguri, in the Siliguri-Mirik highway. Tourists can hire a vehicle from New Jalpaiguri to reach Bungkulung. It takes around 2 hours to reach Bungkulung from Siliguri via Siliguri-Mirik road. You can also hire cars straight to Mirik and then change for a car to Bunkulung.
