Rural Destination Kalimpong, National Park, Neora Valley, Rural Destination, Rural tourism, Rural Village, and Wildlife
Rishyap is a tranquil, little rural settlement of the Lepcha community within the mountainous landscape at an altitude of 8,500ft. It is an ultimate place for people seeking a refuge in the lap of nature, and for those looking to enjoy trekking and other adventurous activities. While it is sightseeing or excursion to any local destination, the breathtaking views of the snow-covered Himalayan Range make every outdoor activity worth an experience. Rishyap really forms an integral a part of the renowned Neora valley at the foothills of Tiffindara. Although it is a comparatively new holiday destination compared to many others within the neck of the woods, it is still a virgin spot clothed in forests of pine, birch, fir, colourful rhododendrons and orchids with a beautiful view of the huge vary of snow peaks. This can be specifically what the name ‘Rishyap’ stands for – ‘Mountain Peaks and Forests’. And at midnight look below, you get wonderful sights of the sparkling lights of Gangtok and the village of Pedong. In a clear sky day it seems that sky has become close with its twinkling stars. Being the highest inhabitant place of Neora Valley it offers the tourists the best view of snow peaked mountains of east Himalayas. Exotic birds, wild flowers and orchids, extinct animals are found in the forests of Neora Valley. All tourists who travel to Rishyap are captivated by its natural charm. While in this village, they should not miss any chance to know about the unique farming techniques of locals and experience their culture.
