Dalim Tar, a tiny hamlet nestled in the Kalimpong hills, is fast emerging as a offbeat destination for tourists who intend to spend a few days amid a idyllic landscape and far from the hustle and bustle of city life. Just 6kms from Gorubathan, Dalim Tar is a unique, beautiful tableland. Gorubathan was once ruled by Lepcha kings who built Dalim Fort on top of a hill at Dalim tar. Lepcha king Gaebbo Achyok defeated the King of Bhutan when the Bhutanese had invaded Gorubathan and signed a treaty in that fort, making it a place of significance for the Lepcha tribe.
