    Kolakham is a silent and small village in Neora Valley National Park of Kalimpong district. This village is 8 K.M. away from Lava, situated on around 6100 ft. above sea level. Key resources of this green and silent village are cordiality and hospitality of locals in addition with natural resources in lap of nature. Kolakham village is stuck on the mountain, one side of this village is widely spread lush green forest and snow capped Mt. Kanchenjunga through dense forest on another side. Kolakham is most unexplored place in North bengal. This is very near by Lava, Rishyap and Lolegaon. The view of Mt. Kanchenjunga from Kolakham is very majestic. Kolakham is perfect place for all adventure and nature lover.

    From Kolakham it’s easy to visit several beautiful places as a day tour. Lava, Loleygaon, Rishyap, Charcole, Rikisum, Pedong etc  are the places which are full of natural beauties and offer full blown view of Eastern Himalayas along with mighty Kanchenjunga and its neighbouring peaks. Jhandi Dhara in Loleygaon which is famous for spectacular sunrise view on Mount Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest.

  • How to Reach

    BY AIR -

    Bagdogra is the nearest airport situated in Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal which is about 121 km away from Kolakham. Bagdogra Airport is 13 kms from Siliguri and Kolakham is 108kms from Siliguri. There are regular flights of Indian, Kingfisher, Spice jet, Go Air, Druk airways and Jet Airways from Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati. Tourists can avail vehicles from the Prepaid Booth from the airport to reach Siliguri from where they can hire Jeeps to reach Kolakham.

    BY ROAD -

    Private hired vehicles are available from Siliguri and NJP to reach Kolakham via Lava which takes about 4 hrs from Siliguri. Private & hired Vehicles are available from all the taxi stand, airport, railway station etc. It takes about 3 hours from New Mal Junction Railway Station to reach Kolkakham.

    BY RAIL -

    New Jalpaiguri Railway Station is the major railway station well connected with Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Guwahati. Nearest railway station from Kolkakham is New Mal Junction which which takes about 3 hours to reach there. Kolakham is accessible from the major rail stations at Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, New Jalpaiguri, New Mal Junction, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar from where tourists can rent private jeeps or car by road to reach Kolakham via Lava.
