    At an elevation of 1527 ft above sea level, shiva khola is a place worth visiting. Cascading Shiv Khola River making its way through boulders and rocks, the prime attraction of the place is its mesmerizing natural beauty. Climatic condition is very pleasant due to the lush green forests all around, it is just 27 km far from siliguri. The beautiful tea gardens which surround shiva khola is just breathtaking. Various species of flora and fauna finds their home here, which makes Shiva Khola a favourite destination for wildlife enthusiast as well. It is an ideal place for bird watching.

  • Places to Visit

    The main attraction for the tourists is nature. Bird watchers can go to spot some of the Himalayan birds those in habit the place and for landscape photographers Shivakhola is an ideal option. One can go for fishing and angling in the Shivakhola River or can go for a nature walk around the village to meet the locals and get to know about their lifestyle. Short trek routes have also emerged from Shivakhola. One can visit the nearest spot “Latpanchar” situated at the highest point of Mahananda wildlife sanctuary. Tourists can also spend their leisure time in the river.

    Tenting camps are available for accommodation in shiva khola, due to limited rooms advance booking is recommended.

    NJP is the nearest railway station ( 31 km )

    Bagdogra airport is the nearest airport ( 36 km)

    Taxi are available from New Jalpaiguri and Siliguri to reach Rongtong via Hillcart Road. After reaching rongtong ,Shivkhola is easily accessible from Rongtong via Nurbong Tea Estate.
