    Majua is a small beautiful Himalayan village at an altitude of 5042 ft., a quiet hamlet located at a distance of 4 km from Manebhanjyang. It is a perfect off beat destination if you want to relax and spend some time in absolute solitude, away from hustle and bustle of city life. The calmness of this place is ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation of inner soul. It is nestled on the banks of Sawaji Khola river, (the source of river is Rangeet- one of the famous rivers of Darjeeling). One can walk a little distance to reach the river and spend some time around it listening to its healing sounds. This village is surrounded by Singalila Forest range. The nature around this place is so soothing that it could easily make you fall in love with this place.

You can walk a little to reach the Sawaji Khola river and spend some time listening to its magical sound. You can also walk along the forest trail to get the flavor of the lifestyle of the local people.

  • How to Reach

    Majua is located at a distance of 80 km from NJP Station, 78 km from bagdogra airport , 27 km from darjeeling town and 4 km from Manebhanjyang. You can reach Majua via Manebhanjan or alternatively you can reach Ghoom from NJP and from Ghoom to Majua in shared vehicle. It is about 20 kms from Ghoom.
